Remember when it was so hot in India that the road was melting?

Well now it’s so hot in Italy that cars are melting.

The sides and bumper of a navy blue Renault left out in Caorle, near Venice, deformed in the heat in the sun.

‘The car was parked parallel to the beach and been there for a few days,’ Folkestone taxi driver John Westbrook, who took the pictures, said.

‘It was just the pure heat of the sun beating down that made it melt.’

He added that the wing mirrors were ‘starting to buckle.’

Cars are designed to withstand extreme temperatures, but the Renault had been left in the sun for several days.
