A bowl of black rice with durian I just had for breakfast
If you have travelled to south Asia you have probably met durian, or at least its smell. The world is divided among those who love it and those who hate it and guess which category I belong to!
There are several varieties, each of one with a particular taste of smell. Some bitter, some sweet, some creamy… I was lucky enough to taste some of them during my vacation in Singapore two years ago and to love all of them.
Here in Europe you can find it whole at an excessive price but I usually buy it frozen when my Asia-sickness becomes too much. One of my favorite ways to eat it is with Thai sticky black rice like in the photo. However I want to try some savory recipes with it so I will keep you posted.
